Once, Walt Disney said:
"You
can design and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people
to make the dream a reality. Buildings, roads, and landscapes may give a place
its shape, but it is the people who give it life, meaning, and memories. A
place becomes special not because of its architecture or beauty alone, but
because of the friendships formed, the experiences shared, and the stories
created there. Long after the structures remain, it is the laughter, struggles,
achievements, and moments spent together that truly define a place and make it
unforgettable."
Finally,
the time has come to go home. I will spend some time there, then move on to my
next destination.
I have
written about the good and the bad, the place, the friends, the hostel. But if
we only pretend everything was perfect, if there were no ups and downs, what
would be the meaning of life? The struggles were real. The bad moments were
real too. And strangely, they were also good. They taught. They shaped. They
made the good times even sweeter.
What I
Will Miss Forever
- Those random talks with everyone
- Walking alone on the street
- Gupta ji's tea and snacks
- Seeing her eyes... (some things stay
romantic)
- Classrooms and boring lectures, even
the ones I disliked, I had to attend
- The mess, eating with friends, always
finishing my food first and leaving
- Playing games all night
- Working overnight for thesis
- Hospital nights
- Those 2–3-hour meetings with ma'am,
and her caring
- Thomso, Bhawan Day, and all special
nights and functions at IIT Roorkee
- The last Holi, played with everyone
- The last Diwali, burning diyas,
waking up early, going to the boat camp for Chhath
- Special dinners, which were special
but you couldn't take everything because of the long queue
- Party nights
- Those two nights in Dehradun and
Mussoorie, exploring Everest camp and temples
- Field visits to Rishikesh with
friends
- Visiting Rishikesh and other places
with friends
- Pranks with friends
- The daily competition between sleep
and breakfast early morning
- Fights with friends
- And my favorite, badminton
The list
could go on. But let me stop here.
So, from
this, a chapter ends. Goodbye.
