Every journey starts quiet. Alone. Then some people walk in and fill the gaps with laughter and warmth.
Batchmates are more than friends. We had the same goal, the same deadlines, the same stress. Yet we thought about each other too. In the beginning, twelve of us sat together. They studied in groups for exams, not me. I never studied with anyone because my habit is not to study in group. But still, whenever I needed help, they gave it. We were all chasing marks and scores, but we shared everything along the way.
Sashank Chaudhary, Vinay Singh, Arnab, Gaurav, Nishant, Prashant, Ravi, Abhishek Kumar, Abhishek Meena, Harsh and me. Then only five remained; Abhishek Kumar, Prashant, Abhishek Meena, Ravi, and me. We completed our Master's. The others left for many reasons. Some got government jobs. Some couldn't keep up. Some just couldn't understand. Some of photos with batchmates...
IIT Roorkee the name, the brand. But the quality? Not always what you expect. I am not blaming the professors. They have PhDs. They earned their chairs. But is a degree enough to be a good teacher? Many professors here cannot deliver. It's not just me saying this. BTech students, Master's students, PhD students everyone feels it.
Still, one thing is good here. You get a proper environment to study. You get friends who support you. And the equipment, the resources, they are open 24 hours. That counts for something.
